Land Acknowledgement
United Way of King County acknowledges that we work on the traditional lands of the Coast Salish peoples. United Way itself has benefitted from the land, water, air, and other resources on Coast Salish territories as we work to build an equitable future for everyone.
United Way launched the Indigenous Communities Fund in 2020 to provide Indigenous communities with resources to address COVID-19’s impact. Since then, United Way has continued to provide funding to Indigenous organizations with minimal reporting requirements and autonomy to disburse revenue where it is needed most.
We invite you to recognize the value of the resources from the Coast Salish Territories and to foster connections with local Indigenous communities. By doing so, you can gain a deeper understanding of how to advocate for educating others about these important issues.
