Keeping People in their Homes & Reimagining Resource Exchanges
Updated October, 2022
The main purpose of Community Resources Exchanges was to connect people to housing.
In March 2020 when in-person public events were no longer possible, United Way redeployed staff who were working on Community and Family Resource Exchanges to help people who needed emergency rent help and food assistance.
With the launch of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority in late 2020, getting people into safe permanent housing has become a continuous, county-wide year round activity, leaving less need for one day events hosted by United Way of King County.
We are listening to those who have been most impacted by homelessness and are in conversations with the King County Lived Experience Coalition to help determine how United Way can best serve those experiencing homelessness.
