Having been born and raised in King County, I was happy to find a non-profit I believe is truly attempting to do the most good for the people who need it most. United Way aligns with my values and allows me to give back to my community.

Fun Fact: The first gingerbread house I ever made from scratch was a scale replica of my own house that included gummy bear windows and a chocolate mailbox; I like making art!

I’ve been connected to the United Way in some capacity throughout my entire professional career and didn’t want to miss an opportunity to give back even more. I’m relatively new to Seattle, but I’m excited to learn about and contribute to the community on a deeper level through Emerging Leaders 365!

Fun Fact: I am a professional singer and release music under my artist name, DeMaur.

Fun Fact: I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and recently accomplished my childhood goal of summiting Mt. Rainier with a group of close friends.

Fun Fact: I have lived 7 states across the West Coast and Midwest. In many of the cities I’ve lived I’ve also been connected to United Way, whether as a volunteer or donor, because I believe in the power of community in making the world a better place.

As a tech worker transplant to this city, I think it’s important to recognize my privilege and my responsibility to give back to the community. We all benefit from a society in which more people have access to educational and economic opportunities.

Fun Fact: I started a pandemic sourdough, and it’s still going strong. Sourdough pancakes are a weekend staple in my kitchen!
